Clonmel Celtic Youths have it all to do to reach the Youth Shield Final after losing 2-1 to Clonmel Town at Celtic Park last Friday. Celtic made a very slow start to this game and the visitors looked the more threatening in the early stages. Despite this Celtic hit the front mid way through the opening half when a good centre from Roy Nugent was deflected into the net by a Town defender. They didn't hold the lead long though as Town equalised within minutes and the game reached half time tied 1-1 apiece. Celtic were better in the second half but Town gave as good as they got and defended well throughout. A draw probably would have been a fair result but the visitors grabbed a winner with three minutes left on the clock to take a lead into the second leg that will take place on Wednesday evening. Celtic know they will have to start this game much better and be at it from the off.
