Clonmel Celtic are through to the Tipperary Cup semi final after a 4-1 win against Cullen Lattin yesterday. Celtic were made to work hard for this win before eventually pulling away. The game was tied 1-1 at the break with Darren Sweeney on the mark for Celtic. Darren Sweeney restored Celtic's lead early in the second half but they had keeper Fabian Kerton to thank as he denied Cullen a second equaliser with a stunning double save. On 63 minutes Celtic made it 3-1 when Niall Prendergast was on the end of a Keenan Kerton centre to sweep the ball home. The best was saved until last though when Julian Kerton's thunderous effort made it 4-1 and victory sealed for Celtic.
It was the end of the road for Clonmel Celtic B though who lost 3-0 to Premier league bound Cashel Town. Celtic B battled hard throughout but found themselves 3-0 down at the break. They never threw in the towel and Cashel couldn't find the net again in the second half.
